Unless employees in the workplace are interested in participating in workplace wellness programs, the addition of these programs to the health care benefit plan will not be effective in reducing corporate health care costs. State-of-the-art fitness equipment only works when it is used, and exercise facilities are only beneficial when they are visited regularly by members and employees. I struggled with deciding on what I should write about this month, our friends in Washington and in the State house have certainly provided us with ample material. In the end (no pun intended) I decided to write about a procedure (a Colonoscopy) that every individual over the age of 50 (sooner if you are at high risk / consult your doctor) should make it their business to have done and ASAP.
