May Classes & Events
 Surely the newly blooming flowers are sparking your creativity!  All those colors!  All the beauty!  (...and yes, pollen too!) We can't do anything about the latter, but we sure can offer you plenty of creative outlets here at The Art Center!
 
Below are the classes being offered during the month of May, not to mention, our 34th Annual Arts in the Park is coming May 29th & 30th with over 200 fine arts and crafts vendors filling the park! 
So grab your calendar and mark it all down.  Schedule a class or two or THREE, and come see us Memorial Day Weekend.

 Come and get help with pencils, acrylics or oils.  Use any medium of your choice!  Focus on portraits, landscapes, still life, flowers, animals or any other subject matter your heart desires!

Loosen Up with Big, Wild Intentions
This acrylic workshop is a catalyst to developing your own unique style. Students will create a painting series as Linda leads you through exercises that are inspiring and challenging, with the intent of opening your mind and giving you a new sense of adventure.

Portraits of Trees
 
According to Zell Miller's book, Purt Neigh Gone, this area boasts a very diverse forest system. This class will take advantage of all of that sub-ject matter - capturing the color, forms and movement of trees.

Do-It-Yourself Picture Framing
 
As a professional framer, Carol will share tips on proper selection of matting and framing for artwork and photographs. Ideas about home framing will be discussed and examples will be available.

 Digital Imaging for Photographers
Beginning
 
Learn the basics of digital imaging (including basic processing, exposure, color correction and sharpening) using Adobe Photoshop Elements (versions 6 - 8).

Digital SLR Photography
Advanced
Class is for serious amateur photographers (& graduates of the beginning class) who use digital SLR cameras. Course covers advanced cam-era settings such as AEB, exposure compensation and custom functions.

Appalachian Egg Basket
 
Weave an egg basket in the style of our ancestors, twine a gathering basket, and do a random basket. Techniques learned can be applied to many other projects. Good for beginner to advanced weavers.

Make three necklaces (Dream Catcher, Copper Pendant & Crochet Amulet Pouch) plus earrings to match.  Gem beads, charms and imported Irish waxed linen cord are the components that will be used.

Plein Air Workshop
