    As part of the Coalition for Impartial Justice, the Citizens League supports legislation (HF224/SF70) to establish a ballot initiative in November 2010 to improve our system for selecting and electing judges.

    Because of a recent Supreme Court decision and the negative effect on campaigns in other states, Minnesota needs a constitutional amendment to protect the impartiality of our courts.

    Please contact your legislators and let them know about your support.

    Join us for the second annual celebration, as some of Minnesota's strangest bedfellows gather to talk about a critical issue in the ecumenical spirit of a remarkable scholar, public servant, and friend, the late John Brandl. Our keynote this year is historian Barbara Dafoe Whitehead, a scholar of similar openness and breadth, who will talk about the lost virtue of thrift.

We'll discuss student financial aid, consumer lending, credit cards, spending/saving plans and lessons to avoid crises, as well as public and private policy relating to financial literacy education in Minnesota.

    Sign up for the Spring 2010 Course, Quantum Civics: Introduction to Active Citizenship for Emerging Leaders

    This 10-week course for emerging leaders helps participants develop a deeper understanding of the themese, concepts and skills of active citizenship. The course is premised on the Citizens League's belief that there are opportunities to practice active citizenship skills and be a more effective governing member in all types of institutions: work, community, school, government, faith, family.

    The course costs $500 per participant; scholarships are available.
