Help Create Incentives for Responsibly Paying for Long Term Care
The Citizens League is convening a broad group of stakeholders to answer the question: What policy changes are needed to create incentives for personal responsibility in long term care?
Help us develop ideas for promoting incentives in three areas in a series of workshops next month:
Informal Care: Monday, August 3, noon to 4:00 p.m. and Tuesday, August 4, 8:30-11:30 a.m.
Health and Medical Care: Monday, August 17, noon to 4:00 p.m. and Tuesday, August 18, 8:30-11:30 a.m.
Financial Behaviors: Monday, August 24, noon to 4:00 p.m. and Tuesday, August 25, 8:30-11:30 a.m.
Sign up for one or more of the workshops now.
Our work on long term care builds on the 2008 Policy Open House, a two-day policy design workshop last summer, and a policy review by members. Click here to find out more.
This project is generously sponsored by a collaborative of more than twenty funders.

Poverty Project Update
The Poverty Project began last fall with a series of discussions to start
thinking about how to reframe discussions about poverty in Minnesota in ways that
will lead to policy changes.
This spring and summer, we are continuing
conversations with Citizens League members, the Public Policy Project, and other partners. We have met with individuals in poverty
as well as outreach workers providing health care, housing, childcare, and other
family services. Their voices bring very important insights into the experiences
of poverty in Minnesota, and they will be key participants
in developing recommendations to address it.
This summer we will put forth a reframing document based on these testimonials and further research.
This fall, the Citizens League will organize a committee to test conclusions and make recommendations guided by the reframing document.
This project is generously sponsored by the Bigelow Foundation, the Northwest Area Foundation, and UCare.
