Today, we're facing huge policy challenges -- but these challenges actually give us a unique opportunity for creativity in policy making. The Citizens League's combination of imagination and pragmatism has been behind some of Minnesota's greatest innovations in the past, and it is what we desperately need today.

Join us as we celebrate our past year and look to the year ahead, and highlight ways for you to get involved in these efforts.

Visit our website for more information or register now.

    2009 Board Nominees

The list of nominees to the 2009 board of directors, along with photos and bios of the nominees, is now available. Members will vote on the slate at the Annual Meeting.
Help the Citizens League Earn $15,000

The Pohlad Family Foundation has challenged the Citizens League to grow its membership to 2,000 -- when we do, we'll receive a $15,000 grant.

Here are three ways you can help:
    1. Become a member today with a tax-deductible contribution of any amount.
    2. Renew your membership when you receive your annual notice in the mail. If you think your membership may have lapsed, please contact us.
    3. If you're a current member, your spouse or roommate can join for free -- contact Catherine Wood at cwood@citizensleague.org to add a second person to your membership.
We're almost there -- help us reach this goal!
Volunteer on a Short-Term Policy Group

The Citizens League is seeking members to be a part of policy groups that will reevaluate our historic work in three policy areas:
    • Energy efficiency and CO2 emissions control for Minnesota
    • Charter schools
    • Aging services
For more information or to volunteer, contact Bob DeBoer at bdeboer@citizensleague.org.
Nominate a Candidate for the Citizens League's Initiative of the Year Award

The Citizens League is considering awarding an Initiative of the Year to recognize an exemplary policy or civic engagement initiative, an individual, group, or organization that:
The deadline for nominations is Thursday, November 6 -- click here to nominate a candidate now.

This award, along with the Volunteer Member of the Year award (chosen by staff), would be presented at the Annual Meeting.
