Minnesota may be losing a congressional district after the 2010 census, meaning a potential loss of 12% of our representation in Congress and untold sums of federal money for the state. The Citizens League wants to ensure that the new district map reflects where Minnesotans feel their boundaries and communities are, so take this 3-minute survey to let us know about your community and priorities.
2008 Annual Meeting --  Hold the Date

The Citizens League's Annual Meeting has been rescheduled for the evening of Thursday, November 20 at the Depot in downtown Minneapolis. Hold the date, and watch our website for more information and to register.

    Progress in Fundraising and Membership

Since Sean's recent emails and blog posts regarding the Citizens League's financial situation, we have made some great progress. Check out Sean's blog for more information or to comment.

Reach Out to Your Alma Mater

Help the Citizens League reach our member goal by talking to student groups, alumni associations, or other groups at your school or alma mater. The best way to attract new members is for them to hear about the benefits of joining from another member!

If you'd like any help reaching out to a group you're involved with, or have any questions for staff, please contact our membership intern Casey Hudek at chudek [at] citizensleague.org or 651-293-0575, ext. 11.

If you're not a member, join today! It takes just a minute to join online.

When we reach our goal of 2,000 members, we'll receive a $15,000 challenge grant from the Pohlad Foundation -- under 100 members to go!
Plan our Next Action Groups Project

Last year, we began the Action Groups as a pilot project, run by young members. The planners wanted an opportunity to take leadership within the organization, to run a project of their choice, and to meet other young members and established civic leaders. The project was a great success, and we're getting started on the second round.

We're looking for people who would like to put this project together -- we will be planning it from the ground up. If you're interested, contact Annie Levenson-Falk at alevensonfalk [at] citizensleague.org or 651-293-0575 x16.
