It's Easy to Become a Member -- Help Us Reach Our Goal

The Pohlad Family Foundation has challenged the Citizens League to grow its membership to 2,000 -- when we do, we'll receive a $15,000 grant.

Help us reach this goal! Click here to become a member today with a tax-deductible contribution of any amount.

Current members: You can contribute to this membership drive. Here are a few ways you can bring us closer to our goal:
    • Your spouse or roommate can join for free -- contact Catherine Wood at cwood@citizensleague.org to add a second person to your membership
    • Send an email to friends or colleagues who would be interested -- we've drafted a sample note you can use
    • Talk about the Citizens League with your church, alumni or student organization, and other groups you're involved in.
We're happy to provide materials or answer any questions - contact Casey Hudek at chudek@citizensleague.org any time.
Help Frame our Poverty Policy Project

The Citizens League has begun hosting conversations to help frame and focus our upcoming Poverty Policy Project. The first two discussions have raised a lot of very interesting issues (notes and more information coming soon!). There's still room in one more conversation for people interesting in participating.

The final conversation will be September 19, 7:30 - 9:00 a.m. at Flannery Construction (1375 St. Anthony Ave, St. Paul).

Can't make it? We'd still like your help to frame this work.

Click here to sign up and help us frame the work  -- if you won't attend the conversation, just scroll past the registration information for four quick questions.
Plan our Next Action Groups Project

Last year, we began the Action Groups as a pilot project, run by young members. The planners wanted an opportunity to take leadership within the organization, to run a project of their choice, and to meet other young members and established civic leaders. The project was a great success (read more about it here), and we're getting started on the second round.

We're looking for young members who would like to put this project together - we will be planning it from the ground up. If you're interested, contact Annie Levenson-Falk at alevensonfalk@citizensleague.org or 651-293-0575 x16.
    More on our Finances

Since Sean Kershaw's recent update regarding the Citizens League's finances, we have received a number of good questions on our current situation, so Sean has posted a follow-up with more detail on these issues. We hope the information is helpful, and please continue to post on the blog and email us with comments and questions. Thank you for your support!
