Welcome to the first edition of our "CHESS MEGA-Zine," ™ a bimonthly E-zine chronicling our efforts; yours and ours, to motivate minds and bridge communities through the game of chess. We fervently believe, "Teamwork makes the Dream work." In that regard, we invite you to join our crusade to bring the many benefits of a chess education to one million children, one school at a time.
Chess Test Tutors, a subsidiary of People Making
Progress is a 501 c 3 non-profit devoted to helping little people succeed in big
ways. Our program is designed to offer children an educational and life affirming alternative to a rampant gang culture and rapidly declining rates of literacy and overall scholarship.
Recognizing that "An idle mind is the Devil's workshop," we see in chess a singularly effective tool to encourage personal responsibility, an appreciation for intellectual achievement and a logical approach to all areas of a child's life. Like no other reasoning activity, chess provides immediate consequences and immediate rewards.
Thanks to your support, we
have already taught over 60,000 children from every racial, cultural and
economic strata of our greater Los Angeles community. Working together, we can expand our program,
especially in communities with the greatest need.

This month, Chess Test Tutors has joined forces with the LOS ANGELES COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT and their Vital Intervention & Directional Alternatives Program (VIDA). To assist this vital outreach program, we have volunteered to provide chess instruction as a core compliment to the program's ongoing efforts to give positive alternatives to at-risk youth.
If you can appreciate the myriad of societal benefits inherent in one million at-risk children learning to think critically, creatively and analytically, you are the perfect partner for us.

| Operation Possibilities
|
Chess Test Tutors has teamed-up with Mega Chess the largest manufacturer and distributor of giant chess sets in the world to create Operation Possibilities, a campaign designed to
spread the benefits of chess Worldwide. Until now, Chess Test Tutors has
focused on Creating Possibilities for children in Southern California
elementary schools, particularly those at-risk.
We are proud to report we have already
taught over 60,000 children from every racial, cultural and economic strata of
our greater Los Angeles community. We provide our services for some of the most affluent private and public school districts throughout the greater Los Angeles area's including:
Culver City, El Segundo, Palos Verdes, Rolling Hills, Torrance, Manhattan Beach, La Mirada, Burbank, Long Beach, Inglewood, Wiseburn and Los Angeles Unified School Districts.
Ideally, however, we hope to attract
the support and resources necessary to allow us to focus much more attention
on communities with the greatest need, in Southern California and
