March 20th - The power of Intention
|
Spring has officially sprung, yogis! Each year, we find ourselves moving into this delightful season, representing change, growth and abundance. With increased daylight, we are beginning to feel more alive. Perhaps this energetic shift is inspiring you to make changes in your daily routines. Symbolically, it's a perfect time to tap into our creative energy and connect with the things that we truly want to make manifest in our lives.
In yoga class, we often begin by setting an intention to bring focus to our practice, helping to align our our mind and heart with the present moment and to help us respond to the universal question of what we're all doing here. Living from our intention brings us power both on our yoga mat and in our daily lives by creating space for a gradual awakening of the change that already wants to happen within us. We must practice non-attachment to any future outcome, and simply focus on "the now".
So, what's your intention? We invite you to check in with yourself this week and see what you find.
Ever wonder what the difference is between an intention and a goal? Read more on this concept in Phillip Moffat's thoughtful Yoga Journal article, "The Heart's Intention".
