MFI Annual Praise Brunch
"I've never been touched like this in my life," said Game show legend Wink Martindale, one of the nearly 300 in attendance at MFI's annual Praise Brunch.

Our Keynote Speaker - New York Times bestselling author and Fox News Analyst Dick Morris left not a dry eye in the house as he shared his journey since becoming a Christian. SQuire Rushnell and his wife Louise DuArt kept us in stitches and we were blessed by the music ministry of Grammy Award winners Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis' Jr. We were pleased to welcome Tenor Scott Priest as well. |

THE DIRECTOR'S REPORT by Pastor Bob Rieth
Can we have peace in a world that knows no peace?
There is very little PEACE in the headlines. There is more conflict than peace in our world, and in our country, our cities and even in our homes. If we are to know PEACE, we will have to find it
IN THE STORM, not because THERE IS NO STORM.
Here are three things you need to know in order to find Peace. 1. Peace is a gift given to the forgiven. "Blessed is he whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered." Psalms 32:1
Peace is knowing that someone greater than us is in charge. Say to God, "How awesome are your deeds! So great is your power that your enemies cringe before you. All the earth bows down to you; they sing praise to you, they sing praise to your name." Come and see what God has done, how awesome his works in man's behalf! Psalms 66:3-5
God can handle it. Let Him.
3. Peace is understanding that no matter what happens to us on the outside, our confidence is based on our relationship to our Lord. You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you.
Trust in the LORD forever, for the LORD, the LORD, is the Rock eternal. Isaiah 26:3-4
I used to visit a delightful older woman in her sick bed and would ask her, "How are you today?" She would answer with joy, "My body is not so good but my soul is doing very well."
That is when we can have peace, when we can honestly say, "It is well with my soul. |

Update on our son, Paul Rieth

Our family is so grateful for your prayers for our son Paul. He is making progress with his transfers and standing, and is able to use the walker with help. Paul is so strong and athletic and has the physical strength to do everything, but the brain connectivity needs more work. He is still at an adult care home and is getting rehab therapy at Providence with excellent therapists. He is still making great progress and we are so thankful for the help.
"I will praise God's name in song and glorify
him with thanksgiving." Psalms 69:30
TBI - Tramatic Brain Injury - is a complicated path and there is no way to know the destination Paul will reach. For now we rejoice in the journey and celebrate every success.
"The LORD Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. ... Be still, and know that I am God." Psalms 46:7, 10 | |
