MFI Member News
by Allen Robinson, paul and mayah Stunt Coordinator from LA MFI visits Atlanta

I recently met with Atlanta leader Linda Griffeth along with Jeff Rose, Jeff Carter and Joel Foster. We discussed the unique challenges of Christians in the Atlanta Media market. Although Atlanta is in the Southern Bible Belt and some churches have a type of Media group, I felt that I was of encouragement to them to start a regular MFI meeting. I really enjoyed meeting with them and hope to again soon.
One benefit of being part of MFI is being able to connect with other members as you travel!

"Welcome to L.A.V.A."

by Chris Medina, leader

L.A.V.A. stand for Loving, Artistic, Vulnerable and Available. LAVA Fellowship started in January 2009 born out of the "I Double Dog Dare You!" Comedy Music Jams - our Teen open-mic shows here at Spanky's Driving Academy and Acting Studio for kids.

It is amazing  how out of a driving school and acting studio, a Teen Media Fellowship Group would form and shows would be produced,...  but God can do anything He wants. L.A.V.A. reaches out to the creative arts teen community here in the areas of Spring Hill, Columbia and Franklin Tennessee. We have students involved in art, poetry, acting, music, singing, modeling and graphic design. The L.A.V.A. teens are very excited that a group like this exists. Some of the students don't have a youth group or even attend church.  Altogether, we have about 15-20 students who attend LAVA at different times during the month with the average being about 10 on any given Saturday night

We have a fully cast play that we are getting ready to do called, And then There Was One, by Michael Druce. This is a comedy "Whodunit" play spoofing Agatha Christie's old story. It's a hilarious show that we are adapting to include improv, music and audience participation...and YES, high schoolers will be doing it all! The show will go up in July with the entire month being dedicated to receiving 1000 diapers donated from the community to help a local women's shelter called Hope House!  L.A.V.A will hopefully be around for a long time showing the love of Christ to the community while building up our performers to be confident in Jesus Christ as they move beyond high school and into their adult lives.

THE DIRECTOR'S REPORT
by Pastor Bob Rieth
paul and mayah
I am excited about the opportunities that I'm seeing around the country.  There is a sense of vitality and growth, and that's a good thing to see in the Spring of the year.  It takes a whole team of people, working together to make things grow.  It takes leaders and greeters, workers and pray'ers, regulars and new members, people of all ages and aspects of the industry - all dedicated to learning and following God's plan and purpose for us.

As some of our 'comfort levels' are tested we realize that it is more important than ever to be living 'out loud' what we believe.

Product - not promises.

What are we doing to affect others for Christ?  What unique gifts do we have that will make a difference
to someone?  What have we done?

"For it is not those who hear the law who are righteous in God's sight, but it is those who obey the law who will be declared righteous."  Romans 2:13

Doers - not hearers only.
Product - not promises.

MFI San Diego Thanks Carol LeBeau

The San Diego lunch group honored longtime MFI Leader, Carol LeBeau, who is retiring from her many years as TV anchor at KGTV. Carol has hosted a luncheon group since the 1980's and has done so much to encourage her co-workers. Her support during our early years, combined with her consistent leadership since then, have meant so much to the continued vision of MFI.  We appreciate you, Carol, and all that you have done to assist us at Media Fellowship International!  We're glad that although you are retiring as newsanchor, you are NOT retiring from MFI.  Thank you for being faithful, Carol.

May 2nd MFI Seattle Reception
The Seattle group had a wonderful time of fellowship and sharing recently at the home of Mike and Judy Kostov. Longtime MFI member, Dr. Susan Stafford was visiting from Los Angeles and shared her thoughts with the group.
