We want to make sure you know that registration for the Big Sur International Marathon and related events (Relay, 21, 10.6 and 9-Milers, 5K & 3K) will open on July 15, 2012 at 7:00 AM Pacific time.  For event information and prices, and to register, go to www.bsim.org.

In 2012 the marathon sold out in 29 days and we expect it to go faster this year.  Marathon entries are limited to 4,500 that include slots set aside for the Boston 2 Big Sur Challenge and the Runner's World Challenge, along with various charities that we have partnered with for 2013. If you are planning on joining us in 2013, we recommend registering as soon as possible on July 15th.

Event Updates & Information 
  • Interested in running the Boston 2 Big Sur Challenge presented by ASICS? Registration for this category will open on September 22, the day after Boston closes its registration.  For more information on the B2B Challenge, and registration procedures, click HERE.
     
  • Another great option to consider is the Runner's World Challenge.  The RWC is an exclusive opportunity to be coached by Bart Yasso, RW's Chief Running Officer, train with the RW editors, get advice from RW experts on training, nutrition and injury prevention, and receive VIP treatment race weekend.  To learn more, click HERE.
     
  • What else is new for 2013? The 10.6 and 9-Milers will now be getting an ASICS gender specific participant shirt.  The 9-Miler (soon to have a new name) will also become a competitive event for the first time.  The 10.6-Miler will be moving its start time from 7:30 to 7:00 AM.
     
  • Our marathon will most likely sell-out in record time, which means hotel rooms will go fast as well.  Our host hotels are the Monterey Marriott and the Portola Hotel & Spa. To reserve rooms for your stay at the host hotels or our other hotel partners, visit our travel page by clicking HERE.
