• In an unanticipated move Caltrans has been able to open a temporary one lane road at the site of the road collapse allowing for alternating north and south bound traffic to and from Big Sur.  Participants staying in Big Sur will have the option of driving to and parking at the start, or taking a bus.  Please check in at the Transportation Booth at the Expo for details.  Along these same lines, we encourage everyone to drive to Big Sur for lunch or just to check it out. 
• Two special events are being held this year.  The Carmel Chamber will host a Marathon Kick Off Mixer in the Barnyard Shopping Village on Thursday from 5 - 7 PM.  On Friday from 4:30 - 6:30 come by Carmel Plaza and enjoy the "Carbs in Carmel" celebration, then stroll through downtown Carmel or take in the sunset from Carmel Beach. 
• The Race Director will be offering two clinics at the Expo on Saturday in the Steinbeck Forum to discuss the course changes. One is at 11:00 AM, the other at 2:30 PM.  For a schedule of all Expo Clinics click HERE.
