Some last minutes notes...

- First and foremost...Last Minute Instructions and the course map are up on our website. Look for the link on the homepage at www.bigsurhalfmarathon.org. Please be sure to read these carefully as they contain bib pick-up information, driving directions, Expo hours, race day pick-up info, course changes, wave start info and much more. If you can't open a PDF, give us a call and we'll mail you a copy.
- The timing system this year will not involve Champion Chips. If you own your own chip, sorry, it cannot be used during our race. We are providing ChronoTrack D-Tags. The tag will be affixed to your bib number along with instructions on how to place it on your shoe race morning. The D-tag is disposable so no more lost chip fees! Remember...NO TAG, NO TIME!
- The roads around Monterey will be closed by 6 a.m. If you are planning on driving to the start after this time you may need to alter your course. Check the Last Minute Instructions for driving to downtown Monterey. Free parking is available in the downtown Custom House Garages.

PICKUP PAL -- Looking to share a ride to Monterey? We've added a new feature, PickUp Pal, on our website. This online carpool matching system allows participants to find and share rides to Monterey. Choose a day - Friday or Saturday preferably - and link up with a fellow runner. Go to PickUp Pal to sign up and learn more.

Runner's World's BART YASSO will be a featured speaker at our free Expo Clinics on Saturday, November 8th. He will be showcasing his new book, "My Life On The Run" at the noon and 3:00 PM clinics, as well as offering signed books for sale on the Expo floor at the discounted price of $20.00.

ENJOY OUR AREA -- Take time to drive the course and visit downtown Monterey, Cannery Row and Pacific Grove's downtown and scenic coastline. Fisherman's Wharf is offering dinner specials for participants on Friday and Saturday night, and Lattitudes at Lovers Point is a great breakfast and viewing spot for your non-running guests (check the race program and goody bag for special offers!).

KIDS AND FAMILY RUNS -- Join us Saturday for our JUST RUN! Just Kids 3K and our Run Forrest Run 5K on Cannery Row at Bubba Gump. Run with your kids, or use the short distance runs as a pre-race warm-up for Sunday's main event. Register at the Expo on Friday from noon to 5:00 PM or sign up on site Saturday morning.

A TOAST TO YOUR FINISH -- Celebrate your half marathon finish in style at the Great Wine Escape Weekend's Grand Finale Sunday afternoon. This event, which coincides with the Big Sur Half Marathon on Monterey Bay, is offering runners and their guests a $25 discount to enjoy great wines from 35 Monterey County wineries and delectable food from 10 restaurants at the Sunday event. The Grand Finale will be held at Intercontinental: The Clement Monterey on Cannery Row from 1 to 4 p.m. Your race bib will allow entry for just $65 per person.
