MembraneConcentration Polarization (CP) refers to the accummulation of debris on the surface of membrane filters. Over time, CP can reduce flow through the membrane and accelerate the degree of scaling and fouling. This Techi-Tip sheet explains what CP is and how it occurs in membranes.
 
 Technology: Neutralizing Filters
 
Acid BasepH is a measure of the acidity and alkalinity of water. The pH scale ranges from 0 to 14 and pure water has a neutral pH of 7. However, if water is acidic (low pH) then a neutralizing filter may be needed to restore pH to the neutral level. This article briefly explains how neutralizing media work.
