Danamark WaterCare continues to keep its commitment to deliver innovative watercare programs and products that address the ever-changing needs of the foodservice industry.

This year at CRFA, located at booth #302, we will be highlighting two new products, designed to meet today's environmental needs as well as cost challenges faced by all foodservice operators.

"With concerns over the environment and economy, we are proud to showcase several new watercare solutions that will help foodservice operators become more environmentally friendly and cost effective in the New Year," says Steve Grodzuik, Director of Foodservice Sales. "From saving energy to saving space to conserving water, Danamark is dedicated to understanding how best to serve the foodservice industry with the highest-quality premium water, which will best benefit operators and the patrons they serve."

Regulatory Update: Guidance on Potassium from Water Softeners
Health Canada introduced new Guidance Document on the use of Potassium Chloride in water softener systems. The new Guidance Document, which was approved by the Federal-Provincial-Territorial Committee on Drinking Water and the Federal-Provincial-Territorial Committee on Health and the Environment, is now available on Health Canada's web site:

 DanaStats: Seawater Desalination
Salt waterSea and Ocean water constitute over 70% of the world's surface, yet we cannot drink it directly. Desalination is an innovative technology to extract freshwater through either conventional distillation or more recently seawater reverse osmosis (SWRO) membranes. This article discusses the technology and its potential environmental impacts.

 Technology: Multi-Media Filters
MM FilterMulti-media filteration, or depth filtration, is a conventional water treatment process that utilizes multiple layers of sand, gravel and anthracite to achieve sediment and turbidity reduction. Multi-media filters are more effective than slow sand filters and can be regenerated continuously through regular backwash. This article gives a brief overview of the technology.
