Meet the New Board of Trustees for the State Health Plan
State Treasurer Janet Cowell recently announced a new Board of Trustees for the State Health Plan. The 10-member board includes Plan members and other experts in medicine and health administration. The board is responsible for decisions regarding vendor contracts and the design of employee health benefits. Brand Medication Pay-the-Difference Cap Approvedprescription bottle
The State Health Plan's Board of Trustees recently approved a cap on the maximum amount members must pay to cover the difference between brand and generic medications when a generic equivalent is available. Please click here for additional information.  
New Specialty Pharmacy Quantity Limit Program Announced
As of February 22, 2012, the specialty medications Arava, Cimzia, Enbrel, Humira, Kineret, Orencia (subcutaneous), Simponi, and Stelara used to treat rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, Crohn's disease and other conditions will have quantity limits under the State Health Plan's pharmacy benefit. This is in addition to ensuring that the clinical indication for use meets the Plan's conditions for coverage. Please click here for additional information.
