Follow-Up Enrollment Set for July 18-July 29

woman smilingDue to recent State Health Plan coverage changes, which became law under Senate Bill 323 and House Bill 578, the Plan is conducting a Follow-up Enrollment July 18 through July 29, 2011. During this enrollment, you will have the opportunity to change your plan elections and add eligible dependents. If you are happy with the plan in which you are currently enrolled, NO ACTION IS NECESSARY.

Along with other coverage changes, the Comprehensive Wellness Initiative (CWI) has been eliminated. Therefore, effective September 1, 2011, the tobacco and weight management component will no longer determine the plan in which members may enroll. If members previously elected to enroll in the 70/30 Basic plan due to CWI, they will now have the opportunity to enroll in the 80/20 Standard plan.

Tips on Protecting Yourself from Skin Cancer

photo of sun hat, sunglassess and sunscreenThe sun's ultraviolet (UV) rays damage your skin, cause wrinkles, spots and play a big role in skin cancer. Skin cancer is the most common kind of cancer in the United States. Although years of exposure can increase the risk of skin cancer, the disease can strike young people as well as old. And just because you may have dark skin doesn't mean you can just soak up rays. People with darker skin may be better protected, but they're still susceptible to sun damage.
