Is It the Blues, or Something More?

October is National Depression and Mental Health Screening Month. It's the perfect time - right before the holidays, which can prove to be stressful - to make sure you or a loved one isn't slipping from ordinary occasional sadness into something more serious.

What Causes Depression?


 

There are no clear reasons why some people become depressed while others endure overwhelming stress, pain and loss in their lives and seem unfazed. It appears that some people simply deal with certain stressors better than others. Recent studies demonstrate that depression is rarely due to a single event or condition.

Important Reminder on Radiology Services and Pre-Certification

Has your doctor referred you for an MRI or a CT scan? Concerned about your coverage? There are some important things to remember whenever you are referred for radiology services, which include diagnostic imaging procedures such as X-rays, ultrasounds, computed tomographic (CT) scans and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans. Certain diagnostic imaging procedures, such as CT scans and MRIs, may require prior review and certification or the services will not be covered.
