As you may know, state leaders are working out details regarding changes to the State Health Plan, including issues related to premiums, comprehensive wellness programs and other details. While no final decision has been made as of this publication, we ask readers to periodically check the State Health Plan website, for details on Plan changes when they are finalized.

Leadership Wellness Summit Video Now Available Online

summit logoIn February the State Health Plan, along with many planning partners, brought leaders from across the state to Raleigh for the Working Together for a Better State of Health Leadership Summit. Our speakers shared thoughtful insights and examples of how worksite wellness can positively impact the health and productivity of employees in various organizations from schools to state agencies.

For those who were unable to attend the Summit, copies of the materials distributed, as well as videos of the session presentations, are available on the State Health Plan website. Feel free to download materials, watch sessions, and share the information with your colleagues.

Prescription Reminders Now Available On Your Desktop

A refill reminder widget - or small downloadable tool - is available on Medco.com® to download to your PC or Mac desktop. Medco's reminder refill widget automatically tracks the number of days remaining on prescriptions and can give alerts when it is time to take medications. Stop using tobacco by calling QuitlineNC! Enroll in the multi-call program to qualify for FREE medication to help you quit. Call 1-800-QUIT-NOW (1-800-784-8669).

Lose weight and eat healthier! Use your four nutrition visits each year to see a network dietician for a primary care co-payment.  Members with diabetes get six visits each year for no copayment.

Learn your health status and how to live healthy by visiting your Personal Health Portal to take your Health Assessment, get health tips and recipes, manage your Personal Health Record, and more. 

Call a NC HealthSmart Coach to talk about healthy lifestyle changes, help you manage a chronic disease like diabetes or other serious health conditions, receive coaching support during your pregnancy or ask questions about your health.  Call 1-800-817-7044 to get started.
