January 2011

Happy New Year!

Karen & Rich Avery, Owners
Greetings!

Like most locals, we rang in 2011 watching the incredible fireworks display light up the snow covered peaks around our little town.  While there is something indelibly patriotic and awe inspiring about a fireworks display on the Fourth of July, the magic and romance of kissing your beloved and sharing a warm embrace on a cold night under a sky of many colored stars is the perfect way to ring in a new year!

For the locals here in Ouray, January means one thing; ice, ice, and more ice!  In this issue we have some great information for all of you ice climbers out there!  We will also show you what's going on in Ouray during the month of January.  If you prefer to play on flat ice, the Ouray Ice Rink is now open.  Skates can be rented at the Ouray Hot Springs Pool!

Thanks to all of you who helped to make 2010 a wonderful year here at the Box Canyon Lodge.  We appreciate your continued support and patronage!

Best wishes,
Rich and Karen Avery
Owners

JANUARY
CALENDAR OF EVENTS

The villages of Ouray and Ridgway Colorado have several things to do during January that may inspire a winter visit to our picturesque towns.   In addition to this list of scheduled events in Ouray County, you can also enjoy relaxation at our hotel's very own natural hot springs and indulge yourself and a partner in a romantic winter weekend getaway or a casual weekday escape.  These types of impulsive Colorado getaways serve as cabin fever preventatives and rejuvenate people for the remainder of the winter.
