  Sacred Stone Center for Continuing Education and Holistic Therapies

Karyn is the innovator of Sacred Stone Therapy, which is very similar to hot stone massage therapy that is found in most spas, except it is based on the chakra system (energy centers in the body) and on Ayurvedic principles. This therapy can be a very deep, restorative massage or gentle and rejuvenating, depending on the client's preference. Either way, this therapy is truly a sacred, powerful experience. She lived on the cliffs of a private stone beach in Rhode Island where she developed this technique. To relieve her own pain, she laid upon the smooth, sun-baked stone cliffs that were carved out perfectly to fit her body. In 1999, Karyn started heating velvety, textured sea stones from these cliffs and incorporating them into her oil massage practice to facilitate the healing process for her clients. The cliffs seemed to gently re-align her energy and subtly pull the pain out of her spine. The heated stones she applied to her clients with warm oil helped create the same effect.
