| 2008 Leadership Conference:
Forty-four MAME members gathered at Eagle Point Marriott in Yspilanti to hear the renowned Blanche Woolls on the weekend of March 29th. Dr. Woolls led the group through a series of exercises designed to help people address issues in difficult circumstances. A wonderful time was had by all and the food was great. Thanks to our own Marsha Lambert for all her work in preparing the 2008 Leadership Conference.
The MAME Board met on Sunday, March 30th. The MAME 35 Conference Committee also met and worked on plans for the fall conference in Dearborn. One of the new features will be reduced rates for multiple attendees from a school district.
The contracts have been signed by our keynoters; now we need YOU to sign up to present a program or round table!
MAME Awards: April is the month to get everything in order to nominate someone to receive a MAME Award. Get a head start on those nominations that must be submitted in May. This is a great way to bring recognition to the important contributions of effective media specialists and media programs.
From the Treasurer: Bruce Popejoy reports that in spite of the doldrums of Michigan's economy, MAME's finances are slightly better than a year ago.
Three Easy Ways to Support MAME:
1. Encourage vendors to exhibit at the fall conference. Information is available at www.mimame.org.
2. Contact President Judy Hauser and ask about Board positions that are currently open.
3. Recruit a new member! |
