Greetings!
Braden Kelley at a Dan Pink Event
Although it may almost be summer, it sure doesn't feel like it here this week in Seattle, but things are heating up in other areas.

Blogging Innovation served up 1.4 million pages in May and is now home to over 1,350 articles. Have you seen it lately?

I will be speaking on innovation and social media in Monterrey, Mexico next week and in Brussels, Belgium in October.

I am taking on new clients and lining up public appearances for the launch of "Stoking Your Innovation Bonfire" in October.

Finally, I hope you enjoy our newsletter. Please forward it to any colleagues you think might find it useful.
Seth Godin Interview (World Innovation Forum)

Seth Godin InterviewI had the opportunity to interview Seth Godin, author of "Linchpin", "Purple Cow", "Tribes" and nine other books, at the World Innovation Forum 2010 in New York, NY. I'd like to share a video interview I did with Seth during the event about innovation, education, failure, and more:

British FailureVery often the best way to test an idea is not to analyze it but to try it. The organization that implements lots of ideas will most likely have many failures but the chances are, it will reap some mighty successes too. By trying numerous initiatives we improve our chances that one of them will be a star. As Tom Kelley, general manager of the design and development firm IDEO, puts it, "Fail often to succeed sooner."

Joy is BMW - Marketing Innovation or Marketing Failure?

Joy is BMW
I came across the following video of a BMW advertising installation thanks to a tweet from Blogging Innovation contributor @RowanGibson and I think it serves as a perfect case study of how one firm - in this case BMW - can succeed and fail in utilizing some of the modern incremental innovations in the traditional marketing methods (including social media) to bond itself to an emotion - in this case 'joy'.
