Greetings!

Your Aztec team was successful in it's return to the Elite 8 by defeating Arkansas State 32-15.  It was pretty easy going in the first half with the Aztec's utilizing the wind to advance in three tries by half.  Captain Joe Fontana powered over for two tries and winger Alex Ross had a blinder down the side for a 50 meter try.  Flyhalf Duncan Kelm slotted one penalty kick and 2 conversions to bring the score to 22-3 at half.

The second half brought out renewed vigor in Arkansas State and utilizing the wind they were able to slot a try at the 8 minute mark to bring the score to 22 - 10.  The next 20 minutes were tense with a well disciplined and very big Arkansas State team keeping the Aztec's pinned in their own half.

The Aztec defense held through a series of wave after wave of attack.  Finally, the team was able to gain possession back.  After a series of advances the Aztec found their selves on the 22nd meter line of Arkansas State with a tired defense sprawled across the field.  The Aztec team took advantage of the open space and winger Chris Bredensen was able to slot a try in from wing to the center posts.

A final try by Arkansas State was a little to little a little to late as the Aztec's answered right back with a penalty kick to end the game.
