Sausages

Klement's Sausages greet guests at the David Insurance Sausage Race on October 6, 2011.

The 2011 campaign is officially in full swing! Organizations have been hosting numerous activities to support United Way. Sausage races, like those at the Brewer's games, have been one of the major fundraisers this year. Companies including Modine, InSinkErator, Twin Disc, Ruud Lighting, Kranz, and David Insurance have all held races. We are all "racing" to the goal of $5.25 million, a five percent increase over the 2010 total.

Some other activities include the United Way Awareness Nights at high school football games in Burlington, Union Grove and Waterford. The announcers mentioned United Way throughout the games. LIVE UNITED t-shirts were tossed into the stands and were a big hit.

The 2011 campaign will run through the end of the year with more than 10,000 individuals expected to participate. For more information, contact Tracy Nielsen, vice president of marketing and resource development, at 262-898-2249.

investWhy invest in United Way?

United Way knows that people like you really want to make a difference in your community; you want to help others. Experience tells us that the best way to help the most people is to focus on working together to make it happen. This one community-wide campaign is the most organized, efficient, and accountable system for investing in your community.

We at United Way of Racine County feel a great responsibility to make sure your contribution is invested in the most effective way possible. We invest your gifts in programs and projects addressing community needs in the areas of education, income and health, and then, with the help of more than 100 volunteers, review service delivery and monitor for results to guarantee a good return on your investment. This critical process does the homework for you so you don't have to choose blindly. You can know with confidence that your investment is reaching our community to impact in many positive ways the lives of our friends, coworkers, or those who live just down the street, as well as our own families.

Please continue to stay involved with United Way and follow the progress of your investment through our e-updates, the United Way of Racine County website, or through our print materials such as annual reports and program brochures available throughout the community.
