Together, we can make a real difference.

United Way Day of Action mobilizes volunteers across the nation on June 21, the longest day of the year. Volunteers across the country help to advance the common good on the issues of education, income and health. Locally, United Way of Racine County is hosting a Volunteer Open House at the Advancing Family Assets (AFA) Offices to secure future volunteer commitments.

As a community impact initiative of United Way of Racine County, AFA partners with other organizations to improve the lives of working families and to ensure a quality workforce throughout Racine County by focusing on the financial stability and success of low wage, working families.

Volunteers are needed to assist with a variety of activities: August Back-to-School event, Fall field trip helpers, tutoring/mentoring for the 2011-12 school year, developing faith-based support teams through your home church, and helping families on their way to new homes fulfill their required Habitat for Humanity volunteer hours.

Sign-up forms will be available that day and AFA staff will be able to further explain the AFA initiative and provide tours of the facility. Join with others in our community and show the power of Living United!

Date:  Tuesday, June 21, 2011

Time:  7:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Location:  Advancing Family Assets Office, 1220 Villa Street, Racine
