AFA Families Show Progress in First Year
Advancing Family Assets (AFA), a United Way of Racine County community initiative, recently completed its first year of program implementation.
With assistance from their intensely engaged Family Success Coaches and key community partners, AFA families worked hard to move into new and better jobs, reduce debt, build assets, improve credit scores, pursue and complete adult education programs, get children involved in afterschool activities, ensure healthy development of their young children, improve communication among all family members, and make positive choices for healthy living.

Youth As Resources offers free grantwriting workshops and presentations to individuals and groups interested in learning more about the grant application process. Grant application
Youth As Resources is looking for youth (age 11-24) and adult volunteers to join the YAR board. Board members attend monthly meetings, screen grant applications, view grant presentations, make funding recommendations, attend project site visits, and participate in board service projects.
