This year's campaign is ramping up fast. With an economy that seems to be trending better, however modestly, United Way of Racine County volunteers are hoping that they can improve upon the success of the 2009 campaign. Led by John Erskine, Chairman of Racine Federated, United Way has set an ambitious goal of $5.15 million, a five percent increase over last year. Those resources are much needed and would return the organization to 2007 giving levels before the recession.

At a breakfast held at Educators Credit Union on July 13, John asked a crowd of over 50 Employee Campaign Coordinator volunteers  to "Do just one more thing to put this campaign over the top."

John's Campaign Cabinet consists of over 20 volunteers including Vice-Chair Chris Ruud, president of Ruud Lighting who will lead th 2011 campaign. They are visiting more than 80 other key leaders in the community asking for their support in order that United Way can continue its vital leadership in advancing the common good throughout Racine County.

In total United Way hopes to have more than 300 participating organizations and 10,000 or more individual givers in the 2010 campaign.

AFAAFA has a New Home

July 26, 2010 is Advancing Family Assets first day in their new home, located at 1220 Villa Street. Space was secured through United Way and Advancing Family Assets partnership with St. Catherine's High School and their alumni association.

The alumni offices are on one side of the building and AFA occupies both the lower and upper level of the other side of the building. The lower level is being utilized as a family meeting space and conference room. The upper level is where the AFA offices are located. They are excited about having private space for families and the opportunity to strengthen relationships with agencies and residents in the Villa Street neighborhood.
