NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS DETERMINES 2010 TEAM CANADA
 
The teams that will represent Canada at international competitions during 2010 were selected at the National Championships during the May long week-end - May 15-18, 2009.
 
The Hamilton & District Tenpin Bowling Association was host for the annual competition which was held at Prime Time and Burlington Bowl.
 
125 men and 52 women were entered.  Included in the entry were 25 men and 15 women who met the age eligibility of 'under 20 years as of January 1, 2010' who were also eligible for the 2010 Youth Team Canada.

HALL OF FAME INDUCTION AND PRESENTATION OF BOWLER OF THE YEAR AWARDS TAKES PLACE AT OPENING CEREMONIES OF NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

Alan Tone, Beamsville, Ontario was honoured during the Opening Ceremonies of the National Championships in Burlington, Ontario, as the 13th in the Athletes category of the CTF Hall of Fame
 
Alan was joined at the ceremonies by his wife Janet and family members Vana and Ryan and Regan and Pete as well as many well wishers.

A four-time member of Team Canada, Alan earned several medals for Canada as well as earning success on the lanes at many international tournaments.  Alan is also well respected for his coaching abilities and has worked for several country's national teams.

WINNIPEG HOSTS CANADIAN NATIONAL YOUTH CHAMPIONSHIPS

2pins and ballChateau Lanes in Winnipeg, Manitoba played host to the Canadian National Youth Championships May 29-31, 2009.  Girl's and boy's in four age categories who had qualified in provincial events competed. in team, double, singles and all events competition.

2009 CNC GOLD MEDALIST GEORGE LAMBERT IV EARNS PBA EXEMPT STATUS

George Lambert IVThe 2009 men's gold medalist George Lambert IV, Hamilton, Ontario, has earned exempt status on the 2009-2010 PBA tour.  George finished in second place at the Tour Trials which took place at Thunderbowl Lanes, Allen Park, Michigan, May 27th - 31st.  97 US and international players bowled nine games each day on the PBA Cheetah, Viper, Chameleon, Scorpion and Shark patterns respectively.  Total pinfall for 45 games decided the eight exemptions available.

BUFFA FINISHES 10TH AT WORLD RANKING CHAMPIONSHIPS 
 Mark Buffa
Team Canada member Mark Buffa of Montreal, Quebec. Finished 10th at the World Ranking Championships held in Naples, Italy April 27 - May 3rd.  24 bowlers from 17 countries participated. Mark was representing PABCON (American Zone) at the championships.  He earned $500.

BRITISH COLUMBIA AND ALBERTA EARN GOLD AT BOWL CANADA CLASSIFIED

Bowlers from BC's Town' Country Bowl in Vancouver earned the gold medal in the men's division of Bowl Canada's Classified tournament held at Chateau Lanes in Winnipeg in May.

76 youth bowlers from around BC competed in the annual Scholarship Tournament at McCurdy Bowl in Kelowna April 25th & 26th.

The North West Mixed Blind Tenpin Bowling League was formed in 1958 with six teams of four bowlers each and quickly grew to eight teams of five members.
