| From the Desk of the Executive Director
The 2008/2009 season is well under way and league sanctions are coming in quite regularly. As of November 30, 2008, approximately 18,000 memberships have been processed.
To date 87 centres have submitted their centre certifications, with 6 centres receiving conditional sanctions. Tournament sanctions are also arriving. 76 have received full or moral sanctions so far.

PABCON Youth Championships
 The PABCON Youth Championships which was originally scheduled for Lima, Peru, was held in San Salvador, El Salvador in September. Fourteen countries from North, Central and South America, as well as the Caribbean, sent players. Competition was conducted in two age groups - under 20 and under 16. Canada had representation in the 'under 20' category only.

Jack Guay & Jennifer Park Finish in Top 10 at 44th Bowling World Cup
 Jack Guay, Calgary, Alberta and Jennifer Park, Nanaimo, British Columbia finished in the top ten at the 44th Quibica/AMF Bowling World Cup. The competition took place in Hermosillo, Mexico in November. Guay finished 4th and Park was 8th.

Hamilton News
Shawn Anderson has set a different kind of record as he became the first Hamilton bowler to roll the last 300 of one season and then roll the first 300 of the next season. He accomplished this at Prime Time Bowling in Burlington. Then five weeks later he fired another 300 followed two weeks later by a 296 game.

Ryan-Ciach & Park Prevent USA Doubles Sweep at PABCON Championships
Kerrie Ryan-Ciach of Mississauga, Ontario and Jennifer Park, Nanaimo, British Columbia prevented a USA sweep of medals by winning the bronze medal in the doubles event at the PABCON (Pan American Bowling Confederation) Women's Championships. The USA earned gold and silver.

Commonwealth Tenpin Championships Nets 4 Bronze Medals for Canada
The IV Commonwealth Tenpin Bowling Championships were hosted at Dundonald International Ice Bowl in Belfast, Northern Ireland November 23 - 29. 16 countries - Australia, Bahamas, Canada, Cyprus, England, Gibraltar, Guernsey, India, Jersey, Malaysia, Malta, New Zealand, Scotland, Singapore, Wales and the host Northern Ireland, competed.

GMTBA 4th Annual Youth Doubles

The Greater Montreal Tenpin Bowling Association 4th Annual Youth Open Doubles was held at Salon des Quilles International in October. The event was available in 2 age groups - handicap and scratch and 18 -21 scratch. Here are the winners:
