It's Summer in Steamboat!

Greetings!

There are a number of things that make summer so special in the Rocky Mountains:  Visually, bluebird colored skies, snow capped mountains, meadows full of wildflowers, clear mountain streams and crisp mornings followed by warm days and cool evenings.  From an activity standpoint, it's hiking, biking, golfing, fishing or anything else with an "ing" that may meet an outdoor enthusiasts fancy.

Participating in a myriad of events throughout the summer has also been a popular way to enjoy Steamboat.  For over 100 years Steamboat has celebrated Independence Day in true western fashion, with events for the entire family.  This year you can kick back in your boots at several community events including a community all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast, the annual Yampa Valley Bank parade down Lincoln Avenue, Pioneer Days Block Party featuring a band, free root beer floats, evening rodeos, and the Ranch Rodeo where local ranches compete against one another in the Old West tradition.

And for nearly TEN YEARS Buyer's Resource Real Estate will again set up our canopy in front of our 56 9th Street office for all of our friends with free watermelon, lemonade and balloons for the kids.  Please stop by and say Hi!

What we'll be missing this year will be our 4th of July fireworks display.  Due to a  drier than normal winter and spring the town has made a decision, like it did in 2002, to not risk the potential for starting a wildfire.  This action also sends a message to other Independence Day revelers to look for other options when celebrating this year.  The display has earned a reputation as being one of the best in Colorado, but the fireworks will be placed in safe storage and used this coming winter to help commemorate the 100th Annual Winter Carnival in February and 50th year anniversary of the Steamboat Ski Area.

To replace the fireworks the City will be hosting a FREE CONCERT at the base of Howelsen Hill. Additional festivities for the week include the cattle drive down Lincoln Avenue at 10 a.m. July 1.

Rodeos also are being held the Fridays and Saturdays before and after the 4th, as well as the Chamber's ever-popular Hot Air Balloon Rodeo and Art-in-the-Park July 7th and 8th.

I hope to see you here on the 4th of July!

Summer in Steamboat Springs is a wonderful experience.  The saying with the residents is

"You find out about Steamboat for the winters but call it home for the summers."

If you're not yet a full or part time resident, I hope you find the time to visit this summer and find out the great opportunities that currently exist for home ownership.

Please feel free to give me a call (877.970.8885) or email to discuss any thoughts you may have on fulfilling your dreams of owning a Steamboat Springs property.  The time may never be better!

Sincerely,
