iPhone app to Improve Fishing Trips
| SEA fishermen can now benefit from an Apple iPhone application that's designed to become essential for planning fishing trips. The app, entitled FirstMate, will offer user crucial information on tides, moon and sun movements, moon phases, fish feeding patterns, weather, fishing tips, fishing news and the opportunity to save their catch photographs. You even have the ability to change the date and location of your future fishing trips so that you can see what the moon phase and the feeding patterns will be days, weeks or months in advance. The creators of the app explained: "To an avid saltwater fisherman it could be what the Wall Street Journal is to a successful businessman at the start of his day." For a one-off charge of US$39.99, FirstMate can be on your iPhone as an integral part of any future fishing trip you partake in. find our more at www.firstmateapp.com or www.fishmateapp.com
The company informed us today that: ...."as of today, with
our Update
approved by Apple, we've now added Geo-Tracking to FirstMate and our
FishMatePro and HuntMatePro apps as well."

Recfish forced into losing Key Staff.
| Australia's peak body, Recfish, has been forced to lose two key members of staff after being refused financial support from it government. The organization, which represents the country's recreational anglers, has reluctantly accepted the resignation of its chairman, Franks Prokop, and been forced not to renew the contract of its CEO, Len Olyott. "Recfish Australia has, for the last 27 years, represented millions of recreational fishers regional economies an estimated three to five billion dollars, "stated outgoing Recfish chairman Frank Prokop. "To date, several requests made to the government has been met with the same response, and that's to look elsewhere for a funding stream."
