Alliance proposal rallies Australian Fishing Trade

Fishing and boating companies in Australia could soon be united under a new alliance that aims to fight against Government legislation. The proposal for an Australian fishing and boating alliance is being driven by the Australian Fishing Trade Association (AFTA), which claims that a united voice on issues affecting angling access is invaluable.
AFTA president Bruce Alvey proclaimed the plans to create such a unified body at the recent AFTA trade show in Queensland. "Everyone will be able to come together and say to the politicians: 'Our industry amounts to X amount of dollars and X amount of jobs'," outlined Bruce in this announcement. The move is already gathering pace with several major tackle companies in Australia latching onto the idea.
And it's  no real surprise considering the amount of complicated and restrictive legislation the Australian Government imposed on its waters recently in terms of anger access.
"This AFTA-led initiative would align industry bodies across the fishing, boating and outboard engines sectors with the aim of collectively lobbying governments of issues affecting these industries, such as marine park closures," concluded Bruce.F
