Head Coach, Joe Wentzell, was the first in the area to develop and offer these power-based RPM classes to the Philadelphia cycling and triathlon community. Twelve (12) years later, Joe continues to coach and oversees the entire coaching component at Breakaway. 

Use RPM to maintain your cycling fitness or kick start your training program.  It can also be used as a cross training tool for any endurance athlete, especially runners. 

 
Class meets two days a week at Breakaway and is always lead by a certified RPM coach.  Your fitness improvement is tracked throughout the entire program. After the first class, the coach will determine your baseline fitness including your Functional Threshold Power (FTP) and your power profile which outlines your strengths and weaknesses on the bike.  Your baseline information allows us to customize your experience so that you will work at your individualized power and heart rate levels.  You will also be given personalized instruction on how you can improve your bike fitness.  At the end of the program, you will receive a report showing your progress throughout the training.
