What's New in store: Hobie Peddle Kayaks
They've been around for years, but don't let that fool you. Hobbie paddle kayaks are the next big thing in west coast water sports. With the help of Hobie's patented mirage peddle drive shaft, Hobie boats glide effortlessly across the water, faster than any other traditional paddle boat.
When you peddle Hobie's Mirage drive shaft, you are operating a pair of flexible flippers that propel you through the water the way penguin flippers do. Wildlife photographers and fishermen are particularly keen on Hobie's noiseless no-splash design, bringing them closer to wildlife than they've ever been before.
All Hobie kayaks come with built-in high-back seats with an inflatable lumbar cushion for excellent comfort and support. Other perks include built-in cup holders, a kayak paddle and extra storage. Hobie boats are built with stainless steel fittings and require very little maintenance. Great accessories for your Hobie watercraft include "plug-in" carts for easy transportation, a dummy-proof sail, and extra-long flippers to send you speeding on your way. Hobie kayaks are extremely stable and comfortable for both beginners and larger paddlers. With fun options for everyone, peddling a Hobie kayak is an experience you don't want to miss. Feel free to come in to our store and check out our demos. We'd love to answer all your questions. Now go play outside. |
How to Stay Warm when it's Wet: Insulation for the West Coast

We call it the wet west coast, and keeping the chill of damp away has always proven to be a unique challenge during the winter months.
Down - long recognized as an excellent lightweight insulator - can get cold when it's damp. Fortunately, today's technologies have provided us with synthetic solutions to give you a slimmer, more trim look with all the warm comfort of your father's hunting vest. One popular synthetic is called Primaloft, and you will find it in everything from jackets to sleeping bags to warm winter boots. For those of us who still prefer the look and feel of down, a viable option may be a thinner down jacket to use as a layering piece beneath your waterproof hardshell. Sherpa's Pangboche jacket is an excellent example of a jacket that looks good as either an outer of mid-layer piece. |
