TO:  Our Community!!!
FROM:  United Way of Western Connecticut

Agencies throughout Western Connecticut that provide emergency basic needs are in dire need of help themselves.  Requests for emergency services have increased dramatically - by 40% in some cases - while donations have decreased.

United Way of Western Connecticut has launched the Take Five to Give 5 campaign to help these programs continue to serve local families who are in need of emergency food, shelter, clothing or healthcare assistance.  If you would like to participate in the "Take 5 to Give 5" please visit the United Way website:  www.takefivetogive5.org

Even a small amount can make a big difference to families who are struggling.  Whether it's $5, $25 or $500 , 100% of your donation will go directly to the people in this area who so desperately need it for food, shelter and clothing.  This is a small way for you to make a big difference.

Cannot afford to give, but want to help?  Tap into your personal network!  Send this note to your friends and family and ask for their help in this effort.  If you tell five of your friends and they each tell five of their friends, the money raised will add up quickly.  Our goal is to raise $50,000 a week for 5 weeks.  Your participation is critical to those who need it.

Your first call when you need something "yesterday".....!
