October 26, 2006: The American Red Cross of Western CT celebrated 100 years of service with a reception at Tarrywile Mansion, where the group was founded. Recent Press. Miracle Graphics & Marketing, LLC, and lots (over 400!) of our new friends in the Brookfield Chamber of Commerce (online at www.brookfieldchamber.org) recently attended a tradeshow at the Fox Hill Inn. Miracle Graphics provided the 250 totebags for the event and has a booth (in a VERY sunny spot!). There were very nice articles published in the Danbury News-Times and The Brookfield Journal that mentioned Miracle Graphics and some of our best clients. There was a photo of me (Sarah) in the Brookfield paper at one of the other booths. Copies of the articles are online at www.MiracleTime.com. We were sampling custom chocolates and showing off our silk-screen work among other goodies. You can also call & stop by our office to sample treats available for holiday gift giving. Gossip: New car wash open on Main St. Danbury, Manny's Diner has new owners, St. James Church is remodeling, a Kosher chicken restaurant is coming to Danbury, DBE had their headshots taken on Halloween (coincidence?) morning for a new brochure...scary!
What are people reading? Kevin Doherty, President of DBE (Danbury Business Executives), recently attended a SCORE educational/networking lunch (we all should have been there!). The basic message was clients get to KNOW you, then LIKE you, then TRUST, then BUY from you! The speaker suggested two books that Kevin ran right out to buy (he seemed surprised by his enthusiasm!) This first is Endless Referrals, Third Edition by Bob Burg. Bob says that we are not going to be successful working hard all on our own- we need others to grow especially those in our "sphere of influence" which is on average 250 people. You can read a part of this book on-line. The second book is Never Eat Alone: And Other Secrets to Success, One Relationship at a Time by Keith Ferrazzi with Tahl Raz. Again, it's all about networking, keeping in touch with our networks and avoiding "'invisibility' ...a fate worse than failure." Who wants to be invisible? Eeek! These books are not expensive, and this information needs to be re-read often until the concepts are internalized.
