Greetings!

It looks like our hot days are coming to an end.  It's sad to see the summer days leave us, but now we'll get to enjoy the fall season, and the beautiful changing colors of the leaves.

A reminder there is an "End of Summer BBQ" at Lynne's home today @ 3:00pm.  This is a mixed gender event.  All are welcome.  Call Lynne at:  503-581-0089 for more details.

Be on the lookout for a possible Wine Social event in October.  A couple of Lavender Womyn members are thinking about hosting this event.  I'll let you know more, once I have the details.

Bunco is planned for November 2nd at Rita and Paula's home.  It's crucial that you RSVP for this event.  Also, we are looking for some card tables and chairs.  If you have some you are willing to let us borrow for the day, please contact me.

All Eyes Are On California
Vote Equality 2008

We are on the cusp of what many are calling the most pivotal election in a generation. Here in Oregon we have a critical role to play. But the future for LGBT Oregonians could actually be decided by California voters. Today marriage equality is the law of the land in California but that could change in a heartbeat.

In 47 days, voters in California will decide whether to turn back the clock on marriage equality in that state, and write discrimination into their state Constitution.

The California campaign is well-positioned to defeat Prop 8-however the opposition has money pouring in from across the country-as much as $800,000 in one day. I am willing to do everything in my power to even the playing field-- join me in contributing to Oregonians Against Prop 8- click here to make a donation directly to the campaign.

Losing in California will be a major setback for the marriage equality movement and that matters to us here in Oregon. Right now, Basic Rights Oregon is working hard to re-elect (and increase) a fair-minded majority to the Oregon Legislature, and to battle a slew of bad ballot measures from the usual enemies of equality. Our Vote Equality voter guide will soon be online and in the mail, helping fair-minded Oregonians make informed decisions about the people and issues on the 2008 ballot.

Meanwhile, we can also help Californians understand that Prop 8 would take away the fundamental rights of tens of thousands of committed couples. Our donations from Oregon will go directly to help buy television time-because No on Prop 8 is working hard to match the opposition dollar for dollar-in San Diego, Los Angeles, Sacramento, San Francisco, Fresno, and across the state.

I know that you believe, as I do, that all committed couples should have the dignity and security that come with marriage. What happens in California will have a profound effect on the progress toward full equality far beyond the borders of that state...and particularly here in Oregon.

In Solidarity,
Jeana Frazzini

Healing the Collective with
Mary Hammond MA LPC D.CEP is the outgrowth of conducting groups and working with organizations for over a decade using the power of the group's consciousness, Dynamic Energetic Healing®, a model in Energy Psychology, and intentions for collective healing and change. Workshop participants will be directly impacted regarding the power of the collective through collective healing experiences in the class and through written materials describing the theory and the process.

We have worked in the collective for individuals to heal illness and to discover their soul's purpose using the collective energy, and for organizations to realize their mission and goals using the collective energy. In addition we have applied energy psychology principles to collective intentions based on Shinoda-Bolen's "millionth circle" principle; for example to end hunger, to end homelessness, to heal the masculine/feminine split, to heal racism, and to create peace in the world.

Collective healing is based on the following presuppositions: 1.) A group has a single energy field greater than the sum of the individuals.  2.) The group energy field is strengthened and seems to become one with a common intention. 3.) The strength of collective oneness can be used for healing and change. 4.) The strategies in energy psychology such as energy (muscle) testing, tapping the meridians, balancing the charkas to change the thought fields can be applied at the collective level as well as the individual level. The miraculous is pursued and explained with a step by step protocol that heals collective trauma, collective soul loss, collective shattered fields, collective dark energy while working at the  current, ancestral, karmic, galactic, universal and mother earth energetic origins of the group members. The individual healings that people experience are enhanced with the increased sense of the web of interconnectedness and oneness.

Mr. Capitol Forum 2008 OMJ presents a fundraiser for Rainbow Youth on Sunday, September 21st at the Southside Speakeasy. 7 PM. hosted by Alana Roxx. Donations of raffle & auction items appreciated. There is no cover charge. Theme is "We Are Family". OMJ's health has made a turn for the worst and he can't be around smokers. Since OMJ can't come into the Southside Speakeasy, Alana Roxx, Constance Cravings and other past and present Capitol Forum title holders are putting the show together in his name. They are joined by several members of ISCWE also. Hopefully OMJ will be able to step down when the Southside Speakeasy goes Smoke Free in January 2009. Any help with raffle and auction items would be greatly appreciated.
