Greetings!
For those of you who haven't heard, yet, our BUNCO event has been changed to November 2nd. We'll be doing the Halloween theme, so come dressed up in costume if you'd like. A costume is not required to play, though. You can click here to find out more about this event.
I mentioned last week that Kathy and I traveled to several beautiful states and saw some incredible places. I uploaded a few short videos of our trip. If you're interested in watching them, you can go to: http://www.youtube.com/kwindfeather I'll be uploading more videos as time permits.

Gaia Community
Many of you are familiar with MySpace, which has been great for helping new musicians, singers, and artists get started in their careers, but so many news portals and home pages are filled with less-than-uplifting content. Gaia is different.
Here's what Gaia has to say about their community:
myGaia was created in hopes of helping people focus on the good in the world, so that when you come to check your mail, or the news, you'll be supported in holding a vision for a more positive future.
We're committed to creating a unique place on the web, a place that's committed to inspiring and empowering people to live at their highest potential. Imagine walking into a yoga studio or a meditation room or a temple. Whatever stress you bring to the door dissolves as you breathe in the uplifting energy of that space.
We intend to provide our members with this same inspiring and empowering energy.
By joining Gaia, we ask for you to acknowledge that you are entering this community with reverence, compassion, respect for yourself, your fellow members, and the law, and a desire to grow and to give to the world.
While you're here, instead of criticizing, create something new! Instead of trying to get someone to adopt your beliefs, try exploring a different perspective that incorporates both your views. Instead of resisting a challenging opinion, try to learn something either from the person or about yourself. Pay attention to what's best in others, and encourage it, and assume that others will do the same for you. :)
If you'd like to join Lavender Womyn's myGaia space, click here to send me an email and I will send you an invite.
Thanks to Lavender Womyn member, Torrii, for sharing about this great space with me! |

McCain Trying to Stop Marriage Equality
WASHINGTON - The following is a statement from Human Rights Campaign President Joe Solmonese on the Log Cabin Republican endorsement of John McCain and Sarah Palin: "John McCain claims to be a maverick who breaks with his party, but on matters of LGBT equality, he's shown that he's anything but. He actively campaigned for a constitutional amendment that would have banned marriage and domestic partnerships for same-sex couples in his home state of Arizona. He went so far as to appear in television commercials for that campaign, is now supporting an amendment to strip marriage equality from California couples and has said that he would vote for a federal marriage amendment if laws already banning marriage equality were to be struck down by federal courts. Sarah Palin has also supported bans on marriage and even domestic partner benefits in Alaska. The Republican Party, McCain and Palin's party, has declared in its platform that they want to pass the federal marriage amendment. Their party's platform also calls gay and lesbian Americans unfit for military service, supports policies that would allow faith-based organizations to deny us jobs and services using federal dollars, and attacks judges who acknowledge our equality under the law. The Human Rights Campaign endorses mavericks on both sides of the aisle- neither John McCain nor Sarah Palin is among them," said HRC President Joe Solmonese.
