Greetings!
Some of us had the opportunity to enjoy some incredible talent last Sunday as we listened to Tamra Engle and Irina Rivkin entertain us. Irina had what's called a looping station, where she can create music as if there are several people singing different parts. It was really beautiful and amazing. Tamra entertained us with her guitar, beautiful voice and harmonica. Both American Idol and Showtime have purchased some of her songs, and she was also nominated for a grammy. She said there is nothing like sitting in the audience looking up at Tina Turners' legs in a short skirt. Seeing her on television is one thing, but seeing her live is quite another!
Our next event will be Tret Fure doing a house concert at our home on May 31st. She has a new CD out, and will be singing from that as well as some of our old favorites. She will also be singing a song in memory of Marlene, one of our LW members who recently passed away. Marlene loved our house concerts and it seems only fitting that we remember her at this event.
Newsletter MISPRINT: There was a misprint in the last two Newsletters. The scrabble event starting on April 12th is in Eugene, not Portland. Sorry for the confusion. You can visit the Eugene web site at: www.eugenelavenderwomyn.com for more information.

Capitol PRIDE Shirts and Magnets
At my online store, I added the Capitol Pride 2008 artwork that I created to t-shirts and magnets. I will donate all net proceeds (after my cost of the items of course) for all items with the Capitol Pride 2008 artwork to Capitol Pride from here until I drop dead around the year 2027 or so... :)
Here's the address if you want to share this via email. http://www.cafepress.com/domadesign
Maybe this can bring in some extra funds, plus get the t-shirt out in the community prior to Capitol Pride 2008.
Let me know if you have any questions.

Love Makes A Family Exhibit
On Friday, April 4th at 7:00pm, "Love Makes a Family" is going to open at First United Methodist Church, corner of 11th and Monroe in Corvallis. This is a nationally traveling photography exhibit that celebrates LGBT families. Jubilate, the women's choir of Corvallis, is going to sing at 7:30pm.
Love Makes a Family is a museum-quality traveling exhibit including photographs and interviews with families that have lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) members. Through first-person accounts and positive images, this exhibit seeks to challenge and change damaging myths and stereotypes about LGBT people and their families. At the most basic level, Love Makes A Family combats homophobia by breaking silence and making the invisible visible. By encouraging people of all ages - beginning in early childhood - to affirm and appreciate diversity, this traveling rental exhibit contributes to the process of dismantling the destructive power of prejudice and intolerance, thereby making the world a safer place for all families.

Turning Transformation into Life
OFFERED AGAIN!!!! FREE INTRO EVENING APRIL 2nd!!!!
with Sarahjoy and Coach Barb
We are continually offered experiences in our lives that open a door to specific healing or many times, the gift of complete transformation. And yet we often easily fall back from the intensity of the experience to our comfort zone, our habitual patterns, to life as usual again. Join two powerful teachers of "transformation" for a collaboration of the principles of Life Coaching and Yoga. It takes an adventurous spirit to attempt behavior change of any kind. The behavior change tools of Life Coaching are a natural compliment to yogic philosophy and practice. Both support a journey of bringing self-awareness, healing and conscious living into everyday life.

The Oneness Coalition - 5 year anniversary
Greetings All!
The Oneness Coalition held its first interfaith service on April 6, 2003. On our five year anniversary, Sunday, April 6, 2008, the Oneness Coalition will sponsor a interfaith service on the theme of "Awakening the Seeds of Oneness." 4pm with prelude music starting at 3:45pm at Morningside United Methodist Church, 3674 12th St SE, south of Madrona.
We will have songs, readings and other inspiration from Hindu, Jewish, Catholic, Protestant, Buddhist, Sikh, Muslim, Baha'i and Native American faith traditions. Love offering. Fellowship time with cookies and beverages to follow the service. All are welcome!
This will be Siri Kirpal and Jim Walden's final service with us as they anticipate a move to the Eugene area. We will miss them terribly and wish them God's speed on this next phase of their life journey.
The Oneness Coalition will continue to serve the interfaith community in the spirit of Oneness; that we are indeed, one people of many faiths, nurtured and blessed by a loving creator that has many names.

From The Capitol Forum - This and That
This Sunday, March 30th the Capitol Forum will host an old fashion "Tea Dance" at the Southside Speakeasy from 3:30 PM to 7:00 PM. No cover charge, happy hour prices all day, and free pool all day. The DJ will be playing music from the 70's, 80's, and 90's. The Guest DJ played at Bumpers (on State Street), Rich Gardens (300 Liberty), and at the Eagle in Portland.
At 7 PM the community auction will be held with a guest auctioneer "RD" (who used to be a bartender at Bumpers). There will also be the 25 & 50 cent tables and the $1 & $2 tables. We still need donations of auction items and items for the tables. We are especially looking for CD's, DVD's, and VHS movies & music videos.
The "Tea Dance" will allow those that want to gather with friends and dance to do so without staying out late. Also, this will be our time as we are only sending the event out through GLBT networks. Yes, our straight friends are welcome, but we would like to keep this more of a GLBT & Friends event.
We have had a request from a local non-profit group who are in need of Hawaiian things for an event they are having. If you have anything you can spare contact Chuck at: thecapitolforum@aol.com
The Capitol Forum is saving bottle caps with codes from Pepsi, Dr. Pepper, and Coke Products. The Coke 12 packs of cans also have codes inside the box. If you drink any of these please save the caps. You can drop them off at the Southside or email Chuck at: thecapitolforum@aol.com
A GBLT non-profit from outside of Salem asked if anyone has the following series they no longer need. The series they are looking for are: Will & Grace, L Word, Queer as Folk (USA & British Versions), and Brothers. If you have any of these to spare please email Chuck.
