Note from the President
Lynn Schaber
Dear Coaching Colleagues:

I often get asked by new and potential members, "What can the NJPCA do for me?" and sometimes I get feedback that the organization is not meeting someone's needs. First of all, thank you to all of our members for choosing to be a part of our community. Just like our coaching clients, we are often faced with tough choices on how to spend our time and energy. So each of us need to decide what we want from the organization. For some it is a chance to receive communication about what is going on, for others it's a chance to attend some of the great events both virtual and in person. Our organization also gives us the opportunity to connect with others in our profession and share our lives and experiences with each other. And then there are those who want to help shape and mold the direction of the organization and do the work it takes to provide a professional coaching presence in New Jersey.

Please consider joining us in our effort to make the NJPCA the representative organization for coaching in New Jersey. We are evolving as an organization and that is good. We are going through some growing pains this year as we add new outreach efforts and fill some of our vacant board positions. And we could use your help!

The key ingredient that will keep us on track to grow and strengthen our organization is people. We need some help to take the organization to the next level. We need seasoned coaches and their expertise as well as those just starting out. Please consider stepping up and taking a larger role in the organization. Help your board to make the NJPCA what you want and need it to be in order to help you be more successful and connected as a coach in New Jersey.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Lynn

It's Election Time for our Nation and the NJPCA

As our nation looks for new leaders, so are we. In order for our organization to thrive and meet the varied needs of our members, we need a diverse group of volunteers to drive the work of the organization. Please watch for your ballot with this year's candidates for election which will be sent by the end of October. Results will be announced in mid-November.

There is one key officer position open: President-elect. Here is a brief overview of the role:

The President-elect prepares to take over the role of President in the following year and serves in that role in the event of the president's absence. Getting ready includes taking an active role in the functions and projects of the organization, assisting the president, taking on special projects as assigned and getting familiar with the goals, vision and objectives of the organization as well as establishing relationships with the board members.

There are also other roles available on the NJPCA board that help to shape, influence and perform the work that allows us to continue our outreach and support for our members. There are open positions available to lead the following areas:

Marketing and Publicity Efforts - External Communication
Education and Programming - with a few subcategories:
    Speakers and Content
    Logistics and Planning
Liaison for Regional Groups
Regional Group Leaders

Richard Canter, past president and Lynn Schaber, president will be hosting a teleconference on Monday, Oct 13 at 7:30 PM about the open positions.  We hope you will attend to hear more about how you can help support our growing organization. Call in at 712-580-8020 pin # 611749 to discuss all the positions in more detail.

If you want to be a bigger part of NJPCA and can't attend the teleconference, let Lynn know by e-mailing her at lynn@potentialwithin.net or by calling 732-822-3274.
