Greetings!

What a better way to kick off summer than being a part of the IBA of San Diego's I-DAY! On May 11, 2010 several PWI members arrived at 7:00 a.m. to Hotel Circle's Town and Country Convention Center, sleepy eyed but determined. Thanks to some strong coffee; Carmen Hagblom, Carol Murray, Teresa Harrison and Sarah Bennett created an eye catching booth that really showcased PWI. The theme was "Gold Medal of Success". Our booth was filled with gold stars and gold candy, and we created posters for all the organizations we support. This year we invested in small sewing kits with our logo as give-a-ways and they too were a big hit.
 
We had excellent interest in our booth and I know that I personally handed out several PWI applications. Thank you to our booth "sitters" Cheena Malicki, Renee Bear and her daughter Savannah, Teresa Harrison, Helen Nelson, Carmen Hagblom and Carol Murray.
 
Our very own Terri Carver spent her time mingling and schmoozing to increase interest in our golf tournament August 13th.  She also assisted the IBA in registering and facilitating the CE course held that morning. Thank you Terri!

Thank you to our raffle prize donors! Kathy Vanderslice at Barney & Barney donated the Padres Tickets; and Aspen Risk Management Group donated the Roy's gift certificate and the plant.

What is next you ask! Well our next luncheon meeting looks to be an amazing event. Julie Brown and Naimesh Shah will be sharing the spotlight on July 9th at the Admiral Balers Club from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Come join us for:  " Technology "Zen" and Personal Branding" The Art of Balancing Life with Technology & What Face Do You Want to Show the World and How Do You Position Yourself for Success? Please mark your calendars for our golf event on August 13th. Remember we also have a spa day alternative for those who don't golf! Look for more information on our website!

8 Ways that you can support OPT 
 
  1. Attend the Golf Tournament on August 13, 2010 
  2. Use www.GOODSEARCH.com as your search engine and when asked "Who do you search for? Put in Grossmont College. OPT gets $.01 each time. 
  3. Ralphs - Sign up on www.Ralphs.com and list the non-profit organizaion (NPO) of 82387 and OPT will get credit from your purchases.
  4. Donate Auction Items - Silent and Live Auction Items needed for Mentor nights in March and October each year.  Contact Dr. Mary Leslie at 619-644-7533 to donate.
  5. Got Old Cell Phones?  Bring your donations to the OPT office Room 512B or contact their office at 619-644-7247
  6. Purchase an OPT Cookbook.  Contact Dr. Mary Leslie or buy them at the fashion show on April 16th  
  7. Recycle for OPT - deliver Rinsed cans and bottles (CA-CRV only) to the OPT office Room 512B or call to schedule a bulk pickup at your place of business.  You can also redeem your recycleables for cash and donate the proceeds to OPT.  Contact Dr. Mary Leslie 619-644-7533for drop-off or pick-up arrangements.
