3rd Annual Energy Workshop and more...
Don't forget about the 3rd Annual SWAMC Energy Workshop taking place on February 3, one day before the official start of the conference. The day-long event will emphasize some critical tips for efficiency, conservation, and energy education, both for households and communities. The workshop will also discuss pending energy legislation, highlight successful renewable energy projects in the region, and cover regulatory issues and other programs aimed at reducing energy costs. Sign up today at www.swamc.org, or email our energy project coordinator with any questions. ~ There is a Congressional update scheduled for the afternoon of Feb. 4. This panel will provide SWAMC members an opportunity to ask our delegation (or their state representatives) about some of today's more critical issues...and there are a few of them hanging out there!
~ Lastly, on the workforce development front, Trevor O'Hara will describe a program offered through CH2M Hill that provides training to Southwest Alaskans to prepare them for work on the North Slope.
