Dress Code Reminders
* Students are not allowed to wear leggings.

*Tights must have feet.

*Long sleeve shirts cannot be worn under short sleeve shirts

*Boots may be worn with pants only (pants must be on the outside of boots)

*Only jackets allowed in classroom are the Dennis fleece

Check the Label
With the colder weather, students are wearing sweaters, sweatshirts, and jackets.  Dennis items look alike, please frequently check the label and make sure the item belongs to you.  If it does not, please return it to the office and we will return it to the rightful owner.
40 Degree Policy
Please make sure your child is dressed warmly for the cold weather.  If the temperature is above 40 degrees (or feels like 40+), and it is not rainy or muddy, children will go out for recess and carline.  Jackets, sweaters, hats, and gloves should all be marked with your student's name.
Mom's In Touch
Parents are invited to meet on Wednesdays from 8:15-9:00 a.m. in the Chapel.  We will be praying for our children as well as CDS teachers and staff.  For more information, please contact Anne Frey at 737-7115.
Kroger Cards
Did you know you can buy your groceries and CDS will get a portion of the sale?  Purchase a Kroger card in the school office for $5.00.  It is already loaded with $5.00, so it doesn't actually cost you anything. At Kroger, load the Kroger card with whatever amount you choose.  The cashier will then scan your groceries and you will pay with your Kroger Card.  It's that easy and you are not spending any money that you would not have already spent.  Every time CDS spends $5,000, Kroger will cut us a check for 5%!
Refer a Friend
Registration for the 2010-11 school year has opened to the general public.  Make sure you tell your friends, family, co-worker, etc. who are looking for affordable Christian education about CDS.  For every new student who is accepted and attends CDS based on your referral, your family will receive $300 towards your CDS tuition.  Referral forms and additional registration packets are available in the school office.

wear red

In conjunction with Jump Rope for Heart, CDS will participate in the American Heart Association's fight against heart disease by holding Wear Red Day. We encourage everyone (all grades, boys and girls) to participate by wearing red to school to help the AHA raise women's awareness of cardiovascular disease and empower women to reduce their risk. If you wear jeans* to school, you must wear a red shirt/top!  We are proud to be joining the AHA in the fight go redagainst the #1 killer of women - as well as of men. Wear Red Day is a chance for us to arm ourselves with knowledge about this devastating disease.  Learn more about the national cause to increase awareness and help women reduce their risk of heart disease at GoRedForWomen.org

*Jeans may not be torn or have holes.

Hearts may be purchased as follows:

In an effort to help raise money for Haiti, Mrs. Bradshaw, Mrs. Forney, Mrs. Tosic, and Pastor Frey have volunteered to compete for "Cupid 2010."  With every heart purchased, students may cast a vote for their favorite candidate. Votes will be represented by candy hearts in the clear containers on display in front of the school office.
