CDS Spelling Bee

sp bee

The CDS Spelling Bees will be held Thursday, January 14 (grades 5-8) and Friday, January 15 (grades 1-4), in the Worship Center.  Times will be announced after the Christmas Break.  The ACSI published practice list is in today's Tuesday Informer.  Students are encouraged to study the list over the Christmas Break.  Qualifying "bees" will be held in the classroom the first week in January.  For more information, please email amybradshaw@centraldayschool.com

Way to Go!

CDS sixth graders, Keely Cox, Alex Jaehn, and Melissa Pugh participated in the Grizzlies/St. Jude 5K this past weekend. Alex finished 4th for his age group with a time of 24:39.

40 Degree Policy
Please make sure your child is dressed warmly for the cold weather.  If the temperature is above 40 degrees (or feels like 40+), and it is not rainy or muddy, children will go out for recess and carline.  Jackets, sp beesweaters, hats, and gloves should all be marked with your student's name.

Remember, all Dennis-LaRose sweaters, jackets, and fleece look the same.  Please check yours and make sure your name is inside.
Kroger Cards
Did you know you can buy your groceries and CDS will get a portion of the sale?
  • Purchase a Kroger card in the school office for $5.00.  It is already loaded with $5.00, so it doesn't actually cost you anything.
  • At Kroger, give the card to the cashier BEFORE your groceries are scanned and tell the cashier to load the Kroger card with whatever amount you choose.  You will pay the cashier for that amount.
  • The cashier will then scan your groceries and you will pay with your Kroger Card.
It's that easy and you are not spending any money that you would not have already spent.  Every time CDS spends $5,000, Kroger will cut us a check for 5%!
