Subject: Season finale of Pan Am

Dear Pan Am friends and family,

SPECIAL REQUEST. The season (maybe series) finale of Pan Am airs this Sunday night, February 19, at 10PM on ABC. There is a chance we can reboot with a new team for the Fall of 2012 but to do that we need people to tune in for this final season episode to show there is still interest. Pan Am was meant to be a series about an intrepid and pioneering group of women and men who set off to see the world. There is so much potential yet to be realized. Whatever you can do to help get the word out will be appreciated.

For many in the Pan Am world, the series did not always deliver on its promise-not even the pilot episode. It may have looked great but was weak on character development and story. It has been heartbreaking for me, and (I now understand) frustrating for the team at ABC. It turns out that ABC wanted what we wanted and believed that Pan Am was going to be a major hit. They did an incredible job marketing and promoting the show with that in mind. Sony tried to course correct when it was clear the stories were not working but due to contractual obligations, had to see it through as best as possible.

Many great things were born in difficultly but went on to greatness, so I am still hoping. And as one friend reminded me, Pan Am is affecting the zeitgeist...
The following would not have happened if not for the show..
