Welcome back and Happy New Year!
Our character trait for the month of January is Citizenship. At school the students learn how to share, follow rules and make our school and community better. You can model citizenship for your child at home by getting involved in community affairs and staying informed. There are lots of opportunities to get involved in the Murwood Community. You can start by attending Family Fun Nights, such as next Friday's movie night, or by attending PTA or MAC meetings. Most importantly stay informed, make it a point to read the eNews every week. If you know someone who doesn't receive or read the eNews share information with them and encourage them to sign up to receive this valuable communication. |

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR DIVERSE ABILITY AWARENESS EVENT ON JANUARY 11
Please help with our second annual Diverse Abilities Awareness Event on January 11. This is an event which helps students understand those who have differences in the way they learn or experience school. Volunteers are needed to help with different activities set up in the multipurpose room. The activities are designed to help children understand what it might be like to have a physical, visual or learning disability. Last year the students and teachers found this to be a really valuable experience, so please come help and help us teach others how to better understand those who have different ways of learning. We need volunteers to work 2-3 hour shifts. Please contact Elizabeth Boegel at elizabethboegel@gmail.com if you are interested in helping.
