Principal's Message

On Saturday, we had the opportunity to gather at Murwood for the Fall Festival. Lots of fun, games and food were enjoyed by all. Thank you to Garnet Shah for organizing this wonderful community outreach event. I also want to thank all of the many volunteers who assisted her by organizing and running game booths, working in the Book Fair, setting up, cleaning up and the many other ways that everyone worked together to create a memorable event for our children. The Fall Festival was another example of the community involvement and support that makes Murwood a special place. We look forward to more fun PTA sponsored community outreach events in the coming months.

RED RIBBON WEEK

The week of October 23-30 is Red Ribbon Week. Teachers will be talking to the students about making healthy choices. Since our 5th grade is away for Outdoor Education this week we are postponing our school-wide recognition until next week. On Wednesday, November 2 we will celebrate Red Ribbon Day. All students are encouraged to wear red. We will have a school flag salute on the blacktop in the morning before school with a message about making wise choices.  

PTA Corner 

INNISBROOK

Innisbrook orders will be here on November 2nd! Volunteers are needed that day to help with the intake and sorting of the orders so that parents can then pick up and distribute their children's sales. Be part of Walnut Creek's premier holiday event, the 19th Annual Walnut Creek Sports & Fitness Turkey Trot 5K/10K/Kids Fun Runs, by participating or volunteering on Thanksgiving morning, November 24, to raise money for WCEF. Keyspot Family Night at Chevy's Fresh Mex

Wednesday, November 2, 2011 from 11:00 AM to 10:30 PM.

Chevy's will donate 25% of the proceeds directly to Keyspot.

Keep Keyspot updated: As fall winds down and winter draws nearer children's schedules begin to change. Soccer season concludes, some after school activities wrap up and other sports & activities begin. Please drop Keyspot an email with any schedule changes your children may have ahead of time.  FYI: Did you know that Keyspot is open 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM Monday through Friday? This is especially convenient during the month of November when there are 4 early release days and 7 non-school days. If your child is not currently registered for a Block that includes the early release days or the non-school days you MUST sign up for them in advance. Keyspot's current enrollment is at the licensed capacity and space WILL be a factor for last minute drop-ins.  Call (925)932-8118 or email keyspot@pacbell.net to reserve a space for your child at any time.
