Principal's Message

We hope to see all of you at Back to School Night tomorrow night.  The evening provides important communication between teachers and parents so that you can support your child's learning this year. Teachers will share their classroom routines, grade level expectations, and the curriculum your child will be learning this year.  It is also a chance for parents to hear about the Murwood PTA and the Walnut Creek Education Foundation (WCEF).  Both of these groups do so much to support our school.  It is the strong partnership that we have with all of the members of our community that makes Murwood an exciting place to learn. Your attendance at special events such as Back to School Night is one way you can show your support.

From the Office

PICK UP & DROP OFF

We have extended the yellow loading/unloading zone.  As a courtesy to others in the car line please pull all the way forward to the next available spot.  This will allow us to load and unload more students and reduce the time everyone spends in the car line.  The staff on duty will help your child get to your car.  As a reminder only those waiting for carpools or siblings may stay in the first three spots during pick up all others must go around again if their student is not yet ready for pick up.  We have asked teachers to make sure that students are dismissed on time.

NOON SUPERVISORS NEEDED

We are looking for Noon Supervisors. If you would enjoy spending time outside with Murwood students then we would love to have you apply to be a Noon Supervisor for the 2011-12 school year. Please contact the office if you are interested.

MURWOOD LOVES BOX TOPS
Welcome back to school everyone. We're looking forward to another successful year participating in Box Tops for Education. Last year we raised over $1,000 for our PTA supported programs. Everyone should have received a Box Tops envelope during registration. This is a spot for you to store your clipped tops. Tape it inside a cabinet, throw it in a drawer, whatever is handiest for you. If you didn't get a storage envelope and would like one, extras are available in the office. Bring in any sheets you filled this summer and a new Box Tops sheet will be coming in your Wednesday envelope. Thank you for your support of our Box Top program.
